Scars of You” is a personal song for vocalist Jaycee Clark, as the track discusses balancing two loves – music and a relationship. “You need them both the same, but ultimately one is always pushing you to make a decision.”

Jaycee adds,

“We decided on “
Scars of You” as the second single to showcase the contrast you can expect on Choose Your Own Adventure. It demonstrates just how far we were willing to step outside of what we typically do to create a song that really captures the emotion of the lyrics.
When we sent [our director] Justin this song, he had this amazing idea to shoot a super modern video in a swanky hotel where I’m essentially getting ready for a show after what appears to be a rough night. To be honest, I was kind of freaking out about shooting the video because it’s so far outside of how I see myself. But I absolutely trusted his vision and knew he wouldn’t do anything to make me feel uncomfortable or look stupid. Typically, when we do videos, we always feature a hint of comedy, but he really pushed us to present ourselves in a way that was much more grown up than we’ve previously displayed and I couldn’t be more excited about how it all came together.”
