Frank Carter Joins Prophets of Rage to Cover RATM Hit

Resurrection Fest sees Frank Carter and Prophets of Rage cover Killing in the Name.

On Saturday, Resurrection Fest goers got a special performance of the Rage Against The Machine‘s anthem Killing in the Name courtesy of Prophets of Rage and Frank Carter. Carter had played earlier in the evening with his band Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes but returned to the stage to perform the classic hit with Prophets, who consist of three members of Rage Against The Machine (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk ), Chuck D from Public Enemy and B Real from Cypress Hill.

The song is a mainstay of Prophets of Rage’s live sets and this time they closed the set with Carter assisting on vocals. As much as we love Chuck D and B Real, the song works far better with Carter’s vocals.

Much like Rage Against The Machine, Frank Carter isn’t afraid to talk politics or current events – he has been very vocal about women being groped while stage diving, something he has experienced himself on a number of occasions – a practice he wants stamped out. Like RATM, he is left leaning in his politics so the two fit together well.
