No Surrender (Chasing a Dream) from Judas Priest’s Firepower album gets its own video while shares of their royalties are bough from former member.
British legends Judas Priest have released an official video for the song No Surrender (Chasing a Dream) from their Firepower album, which was released earlier this year.
The band will be co-headlining a US tour with Deep Purple next month in support of the album; the first tour to not including guitarist Glenn Tipton. Tipton is still very much a part of Judas Priest but cannot tour anymore due to failing health as a result of Parkinson’s Disease. Andy Sneap of Sabbat will fill in for the 70 year old on tour; Sneap produced Firepower for Priest so is very familiar with the material. Firepower debuted at #5 on the US album charts when it was released in March and is the bands’ highest charting album in the US.
Last week Billboard revealed that Round Hill Music have acquired a share of the royalty rights to the Judas Priest back catalogue after former guitarist and song writer KK Downing was forced to sell following his Astbury Hall golf course going into administration. Downing left Judas Priest in 2011 with his share of royalties from their music generating around £250,000 to £300,000 a year in income. Unfortunately his plan for his golf resort to become a major part of golf tournaments never came about and he was forced to sell.
Round Hill Music have been hoovering up music royalties recently, in addition to now owning a share in 136 Judas Priest songs, they also own shares in music by Warrant and Tesla in heir vast portfolio.
