Formed from the same Surrey scene that brought the world Employed To Serve, Woking’s Palm Reader have spent the last seven years honing their craft everywhere from the dingiest toilet venues in Britain to the biggest festival stages in Europe, continuously improving both as a live band and as songwriters as they have crept stealth-like to the upper echelons of the United Kingdom’s most respected underground acts.
Since their birth in 2011 the band quickly got to work melding their various influences into their earliest compositions, their debut 4 track EP released later that year took the raw punk of Gallows, the technical, complex time signatures of The Dillinger Escape Plan and the seething atmospheric approach of Cult Of Luna. It impressed enough of their peers and contemporaries that Palm Reader were soon embarking on shows up and down the country with the likes of Brotherhood Of The Lake, Bastions, Let’s Talk Daggers, The Catharsis and many other of the hugely impressive raft of new bands populating the UK underground at that moment. 2018 saw the band releasing their critically acclaimed third studio album ‘Braille’, as well as playing a flurry of festivals, embarking on UK/European tours, and opening for hardcore legends Glassjaw at Brixton Academy.
