Check out If I was You… guitar walkthrough here
Formed in late 2013, Pist have previously released a very well-received EP (Riffology, 2014) and their debut album Rhythm and Booze (2015), recorded by Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studio.
Both long out of print on CD, APF re-released their previous collected work on one disc under the title “68 OFO” in March 2018 with new artwork by Dominic Sohor.
From their NOLA-influenced, Southern-tinged heavy rock Pist have grown and evolved, with influences from a wide spectrum of metal: appreciated whilst traveling the UK playing gigs, festivals and drinking beer.
Faster, harder, louder & more dynamic, their second album is set to surprise a few people.
The riff juggernauts, release their new album Hailz on 8th November through APF Records (Mastiff, Battalions, BongCauldron, Desert Storm) and have shared a guitar playthrough video for their new single ‘If I Was You…’.
Filmed in association with Blackstar Amplification, guitarist John Nicholson describes the track as,
“The fastest and most extreme song from the album, this was written shortly after seeing Uada in Nottingham which turned out to be a big influence for us.”

Known for their relentless live shows playing and touring alongside the likes of Orange Goblin, Raging Speedhorn, Napalm Death, Weedeater, King Parrot, Church of Misery, OHHMS, Dopethrone and Monolord while rapidly winning over new fans at festivals including Bloodstock, Desertfest, Mammothfest, Hammerfest, Hard Rock Hell and more the Lancashire quartet will be the band to look out for.
As with their debut EP and previous album, ‘Hailz’ was recorded with Chris Fielding (Conan, Witchsorrow, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard), this time over at Foel studio but sees the band step away from the stoner-doom label they were tagged with.
Hailz will be out on 8th November via APF Records and can be pre-ordered here or via Amazon here.
‘Hailz’ is a record that will grab the attention of fans of Orange Goblin, Kvelertak, Motörhead, Entombed, Uada and Black Breath making Pist one of the standout bands in the current UK underground heavy scene.
Hailz is Pist finally finding their sound as vocalist David Rowlands concludes,
“I finally feel like we’ve made a record we can all be proud of.”
